We like to put a hot meal into our service user’s bellies. Often as many as 150 hot meals in one service. We always try and provide a nutritious soup, a balanced and filling main course (with a vegetarian option) and where possible a dessert. This is exceptionally challenging without your kind donations - both financial and of ingredients. We are often able to achieve this on as little as £1 a head but really aim to provide the best possible food offering we can. Please visit our donation page and help us keep feeding Camden. As little as £5 per month can help feed a person in the greatest of need.
Our service users are invariably not having the best of times. We bring an offering of hot drinks every week and try to use this opportunity to engage and chat with recipients. Life on the streets can be terribly lonely and isolating. This is a great way for us to engage with warmth and kindness. Donations of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, UHT milk and sugar/sweeteners are always needed.
Challenge our team of slightly decrepit but enthusiastic chefs to create a high volume, nutritious menu with your kind food donations. We are always in need of dried and tinned goods - pasta, rice, noodles, tinned vegetables, flour, sugar etc. We also have limited storage for frozen goods and seasonal vegetables. We make a little go a very long way - please help us on this journey.
Can you bake like Delia, Nigella or Mary Berry? Have a little bit of spare baking time each week? We love to take cakes to Camden. Visit us in Camden on a Thursday evening or email simon@maverickhumanity.org
This week we will be serving a roasted vegetable soup, spaghetti & meatballs and a selection of cakes and cookies. We will post some pictures on the day and will post weekly on our menu offerings.
